Our Book - Alison Hoping |
Our Garden of Reflection |
As part of our YSI Project we have started to write a book to help young children understand what's happening if their parent/relative is sick. This book is based on Alison, a seven year old girl, who's mother becomes sick and it shows how she struggles to understand why her mother is in hospital often.
Interview with Elma WalshOn October 9th 2014, three students had the privilege of interviewing Donal Walsh's mother, Elma Walsh. For those of you who haven't heard of Donal's story, he was a teenager from Kerry who touched many lives when he came to prominence through his writings and subsequent appearance on Brendan O' Connors 'The Saturday Night Show' is being honoured by his native country. In 2013, Donal lost his battle against cancer. His mother continues to fundraise and share information about his #LiveLife campaign.
Lean On Me Information/Support BookletAs part of our project we have designed a booklet that is aimed towards young people who have family members or friends with a serious illness. It offers information and support to these people. It is a booklet suitable for all ages.

Nationwide News!Nationwide are visiting our school to film a piece on our YSI Project. They will be filming us working on our garden and handing out our booklets and children's book. It will be aired on their Daffodil Day special on the 27th of March.
